Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving where divers use a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (scuba), which is completely independent of the surface supply, to breathe underwater. Scuba divers carry their own source of respiratory gas, usually compressed air, allowing them to be more independent and free from movement than surface-supplied divers, and longer water resistance than resistant divers.
